An End

In my thoughts
his face is burned
etched in place, yet not spurned
this feeling I've brought
upon myself
decisions made
through no one else
smoke filled lips 
taking my breath
indecent hips from which my attention is stolen
another kiss erasing my will
rules once in place
never a thought to bend
erased from place
after just one day to tend
stupid, foolish
words on paper
fingers to tamper with the soul
dangerous playing
when one's emotions
are not employed
want, and need- both
pushed in a heart on the mend
two emotions twisted
falling in the wind
Addiction?
Far worse
from this everything will

you've captured a sentiment we can all relate to. The addiction to another being is far stronger than the addiction to drugs or alcohol. but with this, tragedy generally soon follows. great poem, keep writing! :D Cody Shepherd
