An Emotional Maze

I got lost in an emotional maze,
anxiety draining body and soul;
stumbling blindly within a foggy haze.
Staring into your eyes, like in a daze,
lamenting the innocence that time stole;
I got lost in an emotional maze.
Impressed by flattery's flamboyant ways
I ignored reality's costly toll;
stumbling blindly within a foggy haze.
Bullied by deceit and the tricks lust plays,
clinging to whatever makes me feel whole:
I got lost in an emotional maze.
A pyre of doubts cannot kindle love's blaze
lodged deep in my heart like a lump of coal;
stumbling blindly within a foggy haze.
Tangled in a web of lies and clichés
admonishing trust, I regret its role.
I got lost in an emotional maze,
stumbling blindly within a foggy haze.
