An Eagle's Pilgrimage

The Sun teeths into the naked Time
of this eagle's virgin expertise
an experience of blood flight
born in the cool breath of a twisted twilight,
Morning oracles the inevitable pain
begging to be born within a beggar's brain
while the earth bound eagle refrains
from eating the violet visions
blooming in the limbo of a broken paradise,
the Light of the most High simmers intensely
as this eagle's scream scorches
the skin of a sanded sin
wrapped around an undying soul pole

"This is so powerful, J.A.B. -- a raw, searing journey of spirit and struggle. Your imagery burns with intensity, yet there’s a deep ache of hope within it. It’s a breathtaking pilgrimage of light, pain, and endurance."

In moments such as this, pain is the only sustenence Poetess, the glowing pain of hope. I'm glad that you mentioned endurance...J.A.B.

Ahh this is amazing! Loved every line… You pack a lot of wonder and vivid imagery in such a short poem. This reminds me of the birth of revelations, the sting of suffering..I wonder where the “earth bound” eagle may land. Will he break through the limbo? This also gave me Icarus vibes with the scorching sun… intensely gorgeous poem, Justin! Always, Laura

The parallel with Icarus is very astute of you Laura. Although, this crucible is not about defeat or punishment, rather a self discovery through virile molting. I love your passion...J.A.B
