An Awakening With the Birds

Awake before the morning dawn, I ambled out across the lawn. Taking repose beneath a tree, The sun blossomed, while birds sang sweet. A brilliant red cardinal shouts, As luscious blue birds flit about. A dazzling orange oriole Sits on a limb looking royal. Alone I sat whiles did ponder The joys of life chirping yonder. Watching a robin toil silently, This revelation screams at me. A man has never been so alive, As watching a new day arrive. Sitting so still for just awhile, He can hear the sound of his smile

Neither has a woman, Kenneth (smiling). When all the world it seems is asleep and it is just you and the dawn. Love birds. Love your poem.

To "hear the sound of your smile" - this is exactly how a morning of sheer sitting feels. Well done! Nice one.
