An Awakening With the Birds
Awake before the morning dawn,
I ambled out across the lawn.
Taking repose beneath a tree,
The sun blossomed, while birds sang sweet.
A brilliant red cardinal shouts,
As luscious blue birds flit about.
A dazzling orange oriole
Sits on a limb looking royal.
Alone I sat whiles did ponder
The joys of life chirping yonder.
Watching a robin toil silently,
This revelation screams at me.
A man has never been so alive,
As watching a new day arrive.
Sitting so still for just awhile,
He can hear the sound of his smile
