An Artist I'Ll Always and Forever Be

Storytelling without words
Paintbrush in hand
Strokes of colors in various hues
Painting what I see, what I know
Creating masterpieces on canvas
This is what I've always done
This is what I do best

Life, alas, is too short
At sixty five young, a new skill
Switching paintbrush to quill
Putting words to my paintings
My thoughts of what I perceive
Beauty of expressions 
Creating mental images
In rhythmical formed verses
This is what I'll attempt to do

You're never too old
Too learn new things

I remember now you had a surgery a while back. Hope you are doing ok now. Andrea Dietrich Date: 12/18/2012 5:14:00 PM this is awesome, both the writing quality AND its message. you remind me of a friend whom I met when I was not quite 50 and she was around 65 and she had just taken up poetry instead of painting! Five years later she went back to painting again and stopped being my friend. Sad but true story. this made me think of her.
