An Animated Spark
Once, a long, long time ago
in a land, far, far away;
lived a courageous princess,
whose heart believed in fairies.
The folklore of the day was
on spotting a fairy fly
make a wish, and it'd either
grant you that wish, or kill you.
So, let me tell you a tale
of the day she made a wish;
and why she came to venture
to the woods where fairies flew.
Be it truth or make-believe
she was afraid of nothing,
never letting herself be
intimidated by fear.
She spied a fairy in flight,
like an animated spark;
whose fiery, luminous wings,
left a trail of sparkling dust.
And she bravely made her wish
before the fairy vanished:
and yet, never told a soul
what she'd secretly wished for.
But, it's said the villagers
never went hungry again;
and everyone wore a smile,
although nobody knew why.
