An Act of Love

To yield the cloistered secrets
held silent in forbidden
caverns of the heart
is more an act of loving
than all the gifts of pleasure
a virgin wife imparts.

In love, to trust another
with thoughts, the molten treasure
mined from deep within,
is giving more of self than
kisses in the moonlight
or soft embrace had ever been.
