Among Ancient Oaks

How 
quickly
they scurry
each November
among ancient oaks.
Jaws holding the treasures
they hoard in domestic holes.
Flicking bushy tails while finding
acorns and cones in woodland delis.

Can’t go wrong with those squirrels, Jenna. My own entry, which I’m not quite happy with yet, looks scruffy and jagged. Yours like it’s been filed smooth. I wonder if you worked at that or was it pure chance. Either way, it looks as good as it reads. All the best in the contest. Terry

Not really. I have a single dogwood in the front yard, and I have two sycamores in the backyard. They are huge, old trees that are probably the tallest in our neighborhood. The squirrels seem to love them.
