Amidst the Shaded Sun

Sitting, quiet and still
Breathing the air that nature provides
Where spirit and self become one

Upon the waters beside the mill
In the picture that never hides
Amidst the shaded sun

I am seeing now that it was your own quote, How did I not see that!!! I guess because you put quotes around it, I was thinking the title was a quote from something. Hey, you said you liked bacon. You should have seen the marvelous bacon treats my daughter in law made for thanksgiving. She wrapped slices of bacon around crackers and cheese and baked in the oven. To die for!!

WOW, I echo PD on this one. yours is a different interpretation from mine, but I really like it. And I love how you used a famous quote as the finish line for it. Congrats for your win.

Thanks Andrea, But I must tell you that I did not know of a famous quote. The last line and every line was directly from my head. If it mirrors a famous quote. It is was it is.

I wrote this poem while looking at the painting called " The Lady of Shalott " by John William Waterhouse If you Google this painting and look at it at the same time you are reading my poem. They will both fit together like a glove. Roger

Linda, you are too kind. I thought that I would try to write in a different style. This was my first time writing a poem like this. I hope that I did it right. I can't wait until I hear from you again. Roger
