America's Lakes and Rivers and Streams

      America’s beauty, Ted pondered
as he roamed and he wandered
past lakes, past rivers and streams

      The more Ted would see
      the more he would think
         ~ Pity I can’t take a drink

Yup, pollution is an issue. I'm thinking of drinking from clear mountain streams in the high Sierras as a kid. My dad says only drink from fast running water, not from lakes, and he told us once, don't drink this particular river water - it's downstream from cows. Well, I'm still here anyway - lol.
