Americas 250

As I sit here and ponder
on Americas 250th anniversary,
I look back through history
and the sacrifices people made.
All the wars fought,
revolutions,
civil rights,
and the many other events
that have shaped America.
I look to the future,
to many more celebrations of its birth.
Not just cookouts and parties,
but the true feeling of being thankful
that we are here to see and be apart of it.

Very nice, Karen; I am grateful also. Not many Americans apparently are members of Soup -- a pleasure to see and read your work. Have a great 4th of July?
