American Woman

Truth and justice are in sight
In the wake of two plane crashes
With of knowledge on her right
She rises from her sunken ashes

Robb, I really liked your entry, but the contest rules asked for poems of eight to twelve lines. Ones that were shorter or longer weren't considered as per the note on the contest and in my blog reminding contestants to check the length of their entries. I'm sorry you didn't notice this because you had the basis for an excellent entry. Just saw your note on Constance's blog and wanted to respond. It was only the brevity of the poem that kept it from placing. Love, Carolyn
