America Today

do the questions we ask today
become the answers of tomorrow
how do we go from sing and play
to overwhelming sorrow
when certainty is in question
and wisdom and knowledge depart
we live by our own suggestion
and forget our mind and hearts
we stagger through our walk
and blindly refuse to listen
to those who walked before
