Amber Memories

You were with
this girl.

I was with
this man.

And we met
Despite our
Promises to them.

Your eyes were
Aflame and your beard
was long.

I was bashful
At first.

Until you put
Cold beer
Between my legs.

And I returned
For a second visit.

Always wanting more
of what I cannot
and should not have.

It was that first gaze
Which made me believe
I'd always remember
And always be wanting
You.
