Amber Days of Autumn

Incumbent summer days
bleed vapid ichor in recession,
upon the arid soil
in ceremonial concession,

to announce their ending reign
and precipitate succession
of amber days of autumn
in a vibrant coronation.

Heaven crowns the season
with ultraviolet restoration,
delivering ambrosia rain
for harvest preparation.

A newly-quenched earth
throws loamy spores in celebration,
while lungs breathe deep
the sharp scent of transformation

and eyes behold the solar hues;
a spectral affirmation.

Hi Thvia: I am new to living in in a cooler climate but must say I am loving the different seasons. Your imagery brings Autumn alive. Soon it will be on us again with new inspirations. Best, SuZ

This poem is bursting with imagery pyrotechnics. Each line, a new firework of orange, brown, rain, soil, celebration, harvest...I am in awe and I am going to watch the show all over again right now.

Hi Thvia, what ever happened to you? I have not seen you around, in such a long time. Well, maybe once or twice... Anyways, this is the reason you should write and post more often. No one on this site, writes in such a way. Thank you for the vibrant imagery. This ending, sits in the most exquisite way possible... Love Linda

Thank you love. We have had a brutal August here in Oklahoma but it looks like an early autumn! It's already cool and rainy and I pray it keeps up!

Thank you Pandita, I appreciate your kind words. I haven't written anything for 18 months and a good friend of mine inspired me last night.
