-AM I SIMPLY FORGOTTEN-POTD

Am l now simply forgotten

Just like that

No longer needed or required

Disposed of , though still intact

So many years and time given

At a drop of a hat

Am l now simply forgotten

Just like that

Yeah like the time you forgot my name (just like that) and started calling me John, you can talk Deb lol! No I get the deeper existential question you ask here, can be quite troubling to think we will just be forgotten over time and our life may seem pointless, I tend to look past oblivion, and see the endless possibilities that can happen in an infinite eternal universe, belated congratulations on POTD, cheers David

Wow Deb.... This piece went right through my heart...strange, it didn't hit me like a Mack truck, or a sledge hammer or even a hard punch... but was more like a sharp needle which penetrates effortlessly , hitting the desired spot with such precision. I certainly feel this way at times, and to an extent know there is a truth to that feeling. This is why I try to live big every day, have fun, enjoy my life and those around me.Try my piece "living on the sidelines" it expresses similar thoughts D

We all sometimes feel this way but as long as we have left a trail of bread crumbs; kindness, love, thoughtfulness, the gift of time, words of affirmation, laughter and beauty.. I think we can be satisfied we will be remembered by those that matter. This poetry makes me re-evaluate the places I walk through and the legacy I want to be found by when I am recalled to memory. Blessings.. Sam :) x

Saddest poem by using just eight lines ! It applies to many who lead a lonely life. The poet has penned a real tragedy effectively in just eight lines !

Belated Congrats on your POTD Deb - the site was down. People sometimes low but will not be forgotten especially in their circle and family. I guess many feel that way from time to time, and the realise that they are each individually important in some, if not many walks of life. Maria

A precious and compassionate soul like you can never be forgotten, beautiful Deb! Oh how I have missed reading your words, hued with raw emotions and wisdom with deep insight ~ this one's quite a vulnerable piece, life can often make us feel unwanted and at the abyss of sorrow.. but we must allow ourselves to process these feelings, heal and then find the light within ~ the sense of grief here resonated with me, sigh, but we must remember to have faith in ourselves, in the end..Sending you light always
