It's all so sad, Jan. I think it's the worst of all diseases a person can get. Congrats on your fine win.

Indeed ... this is an open wound for me, Jan, this horrid condition. Dad had Lewey Body Dementia, and it is particularly ugly, especially near the end. My mom was sad that she wasn't with Dad those final hours, (she came into his hospice room right after he let out his last breath), but being the one with him, I'm thankful she did NOT see that final process, as I'm still struggling to get those visions out of my head, (though I still feel honored). Blessings to you, Dear Friend - fave-ing this.

Oh my goodness, Jan, that's how my dad's started - with a fall and two bleeds requiring stints - he was in the hospital quite a while, then rehab. That was the beginning of the end. I, too, am grateful for having them both so long, (Mom is 93 as well), even in that condition there were times when he came back to us. You are in my prayers, Dear Poet. <3

My had a fall in2009 and 2 bleeds on her brain, her memory was never the same but now we see such differences and her short term memory is so short ... last week she was talking to me as if I was her sister. It's heart breaking but I am so lucky to have her, i know you were with your father to the end, that must have been so hard for you on so many levels greg:-( hugs Jan xx

It certainly is horrible to see mum slip away, her short term memory is so short, it's distressing for us both, my son noticed a change in her in the 3 weeks he was home and he found it upsetting, :'-( hugs Jan xx
