Alternative Lifestyle

Today, divorce is an 'alternative lifestyle'
  which brings a frown to my face, not a smile
As I hear 'how good it is for the kids' to have less'  
  tension in the house, 'so much less stress'

And that may even be true for a spell
  'till the kids grow up and get ready to dwell
On their own with no clue what to do
  when their own relationships dipsy-do

So, Mommy and Daddy, I beg please of you
  Show your kids that marriage takes two
Show your kids you won't let your marriage fall through

Children report to me often that things are SO much better after the fighting stops. If only one is trying to save the marriage, then it's a lost cause, I guess...Still and all, while the divorce feels better for the children in the short run, it screws them over bigtime in the long run, with an exception here or there. That's what I've seen, anyway. :) gw
