Alongside the Tick of the Clock

It is then, that time does mock, in fractured, punctuated dreams. Alongside the tick of the clock. Elusive, as sea serpents in a Loch, your reflection, not always as it seems. It is then that time does mock. "Come, count the years, take stock. life, expired tickets, you can't redeem, alongside the tick of the clock." And there, it comes as quite a shock. You find yourself adrift, out of steam. It is then that time does mock. "You strutted away like a Peacock, who's plumage means nothing in Death's theme, alongside the tick of the clock." Against youth's door, you stand and knock. But, it is too late and you scream. It is then, that time does mock, alongside the tick of the clock.

I really like this one, especialy against youth's door, you stand and knock. I have such a dislike for the sound of clocks that for my office I bought a plug in vintage clock- soundless, except for a slight purr. My last one broke and I have yet to buy the next. So I rely on the computer clock. My husband thinks I'm quite cuckoo, since I explained to him the sound of a clock ticking is the sound of a second leaving and never to return. I am thinking YOU GET THAT! Good luck, you're sure to win!

Wow Cyndi...You "get" it. I hate the sound of a ticking clock. It is always reminding you of time slipping away. I am with you. Digital clocks for me. But, my husband loves the sound of a clock ticking. So the kitchen clock talks, all night long while I have insomnia, telling me of each second that is gone forever.
