Alone Or Not I Will Go On

I’m not stopping life’s journey
Because I don’t have someone to go with me
I’m not stopping moving forward
Because I don’t have someone to urge me onward
I’m not sitting still
Because I don’t have someone to pull me uphill
I’m still going on to live this life
I will not waste this precious time
Alone or not I will go on
There are things to do and ponder
And stuff to see and make
Maybe I’ll even make a birthday cake
God has given me life to live
So I am following His lead
My ages they roll out in patterns
As many have seen before but no matter
The next year comes right after the last
And so I create a life with a past
Something to look back on and smile
And recount all those lively miles
Where I did something fun
Perhaps went for a run
Adopted a dog
Who became my best bud
Payed off my loans
Helped a friend get home
Volunteered my hands
Despite other plans
Filled my mind’s reflection
With gratitude and contentment
Traveled over lands
Heard cool bands
Danced in a line
Watched the sun and moon rise
Climbed to the top
Of some very high rocks
Wrote down my words
So a voice can be heard
Spread happiness and hope
To others who need it most
With smiles and some turns
I go ‘round on this earth
I’ll never know what’s in store
Waiting just outside the door
Life is full of many surprises
None of us know what’s behind it
But a mystery over many heartbeats
The next one could be where our eyes meet

C.A., I love the way your mind works! This poem should be given to everyone who has started to give up. It's very inspirational.

Ann, Thank you so much! I hope those that need it will find it. I know it helped me just writing it and every time I reread it I feel the strength I used to go on alone and the hope of experiencing life “alone or not”. Thanks for stopping by, C.A.
