Alone In the Crowd
In the circle of laughter, I stand alone,
In the midst of friends, I've never known,
Their voices like music, a distant song,
But I'm lost in the crowd, where I don't belong.
We share our secrets, our hopes, our fears,
But my words get lost in the sea of cheers,
I smile on the outside, but inside, I weep,
For in this girlhood journey, I'm swimming so deep.
I watch their bonds, so tight and strong,
Wishing I could fit where I truly belong,
But something inside me keeps me apart,
A loneliness gripping my tender heart.
I yearn for a friend who'll understand,
The girl beneath this mask, the one so grand,
Who's struggling to find her place in this space,
To belong, to connect, to truly embrace.
But I won't give up, I'll keep the fight,
I'll shine my own star in the darkest of night,
For amidst these feelings of being alone,
I'll discover my strength, I'll find my own throne.
In the pages of girlhood, my story will unfold,
With courage and grace, I'll be strong and bold,
And one day, my friend, we'll both realize,
That in feeling alone, we grew and we rise.
