Almost There

Listen to poem:
Almost There David J Walker Are we almost there Mother turned around And frowned For the umpteenth time as Our magic carpet DeSoto barely cleared The city when we asked again Are we almost there For us The journey would just Begin And time would have no real Meaning For many more years To come Are We Almost there How numb you feel When you wind the clock And learn how real Time really is Hand in hand and Day to day The clocks chime and reminds us Of the time that Has slipped away Then one morning You open your eyes And without warning You realize We Are almost there
