Almost
ALMOST
I am thinking about growing up – the miracle of aging – appealing
The excitement that exists is chronologically revealing
Addition of a half makes next older age within grasp fulfilling
at
5 and a half -- Almost 6; a new tooth grows
9 and a half – Almost double digits, Whoa!!
12 and a-half – Almost 13; a teen-ager glows
15 and a-half – Almost 16; a driver, first date - now a beau
22 and a-half –Almost 23; getting married- love aglow
24 and a-half –Almost 25; becoming a parent- much to know
44 and a-half –Almost 45; becoming a grandparent- the show
64 and a-half --Almost 65; retiring - a new life flow
81 and a -half –Almost 82; a storyteller- life’s shadow
so
I am thinking about growing up – the miracle of aging—appealing
Alive, alert, forward planning and backward seeing—
Almost grown Life’s inconveniences, disabilities and sorrows come –
Almost daily feeling
Feel insecure – Almost fell:
"But as for me, my feet were almost gone,
My steps had well nigh slipped" (Psalm73:2)
Without the LORD –Almost in silence:
"Unless the LORD had been my help,
My soul had almost dwelt in silence" (Psalm 94:17)
God is always there even when we are only almost there...:
"They had almost consumed me upon earth;
But I forsook not thy precepts". (Psalms 119:87)
I am thinking about growing up --
the miracle of aging lifespan—
About how God prepares us
for all these life changes, and;
About how God is never almost -
His redemptive love is always again and again
