All the Little Pieces
"Fragments and crumbs of life, all the little pieces"---John Ruskin, 1853
Haunt me every waking minute.
I can't stop thinking about what happened
Trying to wipe those images from my mind
but they reappear all the time.
Having been kid napped by my father
and hit by my mother.
I was blamed for the house fire.
The pieces I remember may not be sweet
with a happy ending.
But they are my memories,
That carry me through
when feeling like giving in.
They are why I am, who I am.
No matter how hard I try,
I will never free my mind.
From the horror I hold inside.
