all that matters

It’s coming back again
Even when I’m chosen, I feel stupid.
Nothing can save me now
There’s better out there.

You can call me the best
And say it so much to make me believe it.
But unless you remove my gray matter
It will never be true.

This will linger until I stop breathing
Whether that is near or far.
When everything is perfect on her front
I don’t think my details matter.

Because she could be so unbelievably horrid inside
It wouldn’t matter when she can cover it with a pretty face.
I have nothing to cover my flaws with
Don’t say I’m all that matters.
