All Hail Caesar
Majestically he rose above the rest
Not the best but the best of the best
A one team man for his whole career
He graced the Hoops for many a year
Honours in football he won by the score
And this lion largely inspired the Lisbon roar
Undeniably a great leader of men
In defeat and victory gracious and even
His rivals revered him as a great opponent
No triumph of his did they ever resent
Captaining Celtic was his crowning glory
Lending even more lustre to his sporting story
From his humble beginnings in his native Bellshill
His growth in stature gave his supporters a thrill
Ave atque vale must we now say to this man
Whose sporting deeds are without comparison
