All Alone

All alone she sat on the walkway As passers by cast furtive glance her way And briskly look the other way Bringing no succour her way She sat there any way Staring into space with a look so faraway Waiting in vain all day For a good Samaritan to come her way Has humanity no more empathy to display? Love should look around without delay To see her need and say Come into my abode and stay For you are my sister in every way
