Alienated Fate

ALIENATED FATE Is life but just a game, Are we all made the same, Do we seek money, fame, And only look for gain, And every day begin the game, All over again! The wealthy need compassion But just point and blame, Leaving an unsavory stain, No matter the country, its Location or terrain! The poor, no chance for school And hungry in their pain, Suffer war, strife, poverty And death, know Not the meaning vain, And do not ever feign or Dare to deign, To be like them, they could Not travel down a Rich man’s lane! Meanwhile the politicians Banter on, saying their main Concern reform, the poor Get poorer, bane Of their lives equality, But pleas ignored, left out, In torrential rain! The rich with bowler hat, New suit and cane, Beware, your future will Hold no moon to wane! This planet’s life’s long yearn, To achieve uniformity, and Inherently apply the will to learn!

And what is stinking rich but, a kick in the face of the poor folks. though there are a few rich who have no qualms about helping people in need but, sadly they are quite few. Pity the rich who never know the joy of sharing. Well penned.

Well said MLK ,A wise comment, the rich who don't give need pity. The rich who don't give are all scrooges, the - God i omnipresent and omnipotent - he sees all. Blessings, Jennifer.

It would seem that the rich are to be pitied as it is difficult for them to get through the gates of Heaven. Therefore the poor in fact would seem to have the advantage. The story of the rich man and Lazarus comes to mind. Still their is hope for both as it does not say it is impossible. Mark 9:23 Is worth a read.

Thank-you Kim - i feel strongly that the governments of the world should do as much as they can for the poor, otherwise a world wide revolution will come about! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

A great social comment penned so well Jenny, this is one of your best pieces I would say as it stirs up the grey matter to think on the increasing gap between the rich and the poor more and more and you probably see it even more where you are. Have a blessed weekend, Gordon

Thank-you Gordon, I cannot pass a person, man or woman that I can see look sober but in dire straits, I always give them something, no matter the amount. A lovely comment my friend, Blessings, Jennifer.

The divide between the rich and those below them gets wider. Greed and I'm alright Jack, stuff everyone else attitude gets worse. People in the UK, working long hours and still having to rely on food banks says a lot. Hope your new year going well. Tom

Thanks Tom, your comment is so true, but politicians once they are in power, join the culture of the very rich, and their words and promises ring false and empty. Blessings my friend, Jennifer.

Your poem is an eyeopener to many politicians, Jenny. Financially the rich have a big say in electing the leaders of countries (expecting something in return); unfortunately the poor are condemned to stay poor (even though they too have a vote). ~ Warm regards & Hugs // paul

You have done admirable work, Joe, and I raise my hat to you! There are many NGOs who give a lot without expecting anything in return. The rich I talk about are those who influence elections, etc because it is in their interest to do so. Regards // paul

I guess we just travel in different circles. The rich I know are very generous, came to this country (the USA) speaking little English and with barely more that the shirts of their backs. As for the poor (not all, but many), I ran a non-profit organization for 10 years (took no salary, little sleep for I supporting myself working nights as a laborer); helped thousands receive free food, clothing, shelter, medical equipment, etc, and not one of them was poor because of the rich. No parents. Bad parents. Mental health issues, drug addiction, but not poor for lack of agencies and individuals willing to give a helping hand.

You are absolutely right Paul, but the poor although able to vote, have little say - a wonderful comment, thank-you.Warm regards and hugs, Jenny.

great message and very well rhymed, Jennifer. So sad how the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. what you said below to Gershon is true. Middle class is not as good as it was 20, maybe even ten years ago. rising health care costs have a lot to do with it in my country.

A very insightful write about the sad state of affairs for far too many dear people of this world. As the old saying goes, it seems "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer!" Many thanks, Jenn, for stopping by to comment on 2 of my recent concoctions. Best to you and yours this New Year - Bob H

Well,... on one hand, all true... On the other hand, a middle-class, average citizen of a Western country lives better than Kings did just 150 years ago. We have hear, a/c, lawn services, washers, dryers, indoor plumbing. Wow. Are we blessed!! 'A rising tide lifts all (grateful) boats! Thanks, Jen, :) gwiiii

It's a matter of perspective, perhaps... I would also agree in regards to many African countries and some Arab lands that things are dire.::) gw

I beg to differ my friend, the lower middle class worldwide are slowly joining the ranks of the poor, especially in 3rd world countries. Cost of living is soaring and the poor are by far in the majority, we are in for shock waves that will rock planet earth! Furthermore, we are depleting our natural resources and polluting our already traumatized world with further pollution, which has even spread to outer space. Blessings, Jennifer.

The gap between the "haves" and "have nots" is widening, Jennifer. A single income used to be enough to support a family, but now families struggle with two incomes. We need to elect leaders who recognize these problems and help low-income families stay afloat. A powerful, thought-provoking poem, Jennifer. Hugs, Carolyn

- A wake-up call for many, dear friend Jenny - So unfair ... many have too much .... and many have too little ... heartbreaking - Thinking about what we spend on money, food and gifts for Christmas ... all expensive fireworks that cost many millions of dollars for New Year ... poff .. straight up in the air ... madness if you ask me - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

We are not living in the Depression Era in the USA! I don't know about Africa. Any child born here gets free medical care and free schooling. In addition to free phones, and free food for families. Even the poor in tents, get Fed or state aid. We don't have rationed health care here. If poor, you can get state or fed aid. The wealthy in our Republic create JOBs. people are smart and choose how to live. Some do not want to work. They sell drugs instead.....PR
