Alien To Love

The one who rejoices with the misfortunes of others alien is to love.*

*  In the recent fires in Greece 88 fellow humans were burnt to death and the number will rise still! 

There was someone here who made it a poem of celebration of hate! To him I send my love and wish God to bless him find peace!

Login to Reply Demetrios Trifiatis Date: 7/30/2018 3:03:00 PM Thank God I am well but many of my fellow Greeks are not for many people were burnt to death and thousands of homes were destroyed by the fire! I have friends who have lost their homes but not family but this means nothing when so many grieve the pain becomes mine as well! That person, at the moment he knows what has happened should never have written so lightly about summer fires in Greece. I forgive him but i wouldn't award him ! A poet should be humane first of all and sensitive to the pain of others! Thank you for caring dear, harry. God bless you for your kindness!

Login to Reply Demetrios Trifiatis Date: 7/30/2018 2:20:00 PM Our countries have been at odds for centuries yet when earthquakes struck Turkey back in 1999 Greece was the first to help and when an earthquake struck Greece the same year Turkey sent rescuers to help. We unfortunately still have problems but after the fires the Turkish president was the first to call the Greek Prime Minister to offer help. Myself I am the co-author of a book concerning peace written with a dear Turkish university professor! Grief and love unite people, unfortunately ,some who call themselves poets have not the necessary sensitivity not to write lightly about summer fires when so many people have perished but care only to get a POTD no matter what the cost. Thank you my dear friend, Pixie Dust for your humanity!

How anyone can rejoice or make light of a situation of such a tragedy is beyond comprehension. I am shocked to say the least. In Australia we have many Greek friends and the tragedy is felt by us all. The scenes of devastation and loss from Greece have galvanized the Greek Community in Australia, who are organizing donations and relief to be sent there.The president of the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne, Bill Papastergiadis, said within 16 hours community groups across Australia had galvanized. And that my friend is how things should be, people should be pulling together, not writings silly poetry that serves no purpose whatsoever. It is really painful to see 88 of your fellow human beings burnt to death and become ashes along with 3500 burnt homes and 150 injured and a lot of people missing and one person, a poet, making fun of the summer fires in Greece! In Australia, in Canada and all over the world thousands of people have expressed their support towards my country and its victims. In our poetic family though we have , fortunately only this person to find it amusing!!!! Well, I forgive him and pray the Good Lord forgives him but rewarding this person? I think it is not funny !
