ALIEN
Not so long ago an Alien from Purple-Purple Planet, enveloped in a purple cloud of vapour,
landed in a Jacaranda Tree in Pretoria. She caused such a stir as wherever she went she left a trial of violet fur. What she was seeking was a vineyard of fat juicy violet grapes as she believed this would transform her into an ape. Alas ! Vineyards of violet vines were not to be found in Pretoria !
What behove Ms Purple Violet Alien True was an air around her, a deep royal purple blue
boundary line. On it, with strings of lilac and lavender was attached small purple envelopes, each with a tiny neon purple bell. Everyone meeting this strange Galactic said that these envelopes held magical spells. Who was to definitely know, unless she gifted you one.
Once, in a heliotrope and plum grape outfit she
went shopping in the city’s giant mall, looking for an electric purple cape, eggplants and purple cabbage. Purplish blue food with violet grape juice was the staple on Purple-Purple Planet, where all women were called Janet. Such foods made this Alien drool, helping to entertain earthly fools, wearing byzantium suits.
One lavender morning I decided to pluck up purple courage to visit Ms Purple Violet Alien True. I donned a mauve and indigo outfit, trying to look as purply as possible.
She met me at her midnight purple door, accepting the great bunch of fat juicy violet grapes I brought along as a gift. Her purple belled envelopes with their strings of lilac and lavender tinkled all around her amethyst rooms.
In return she offered me one purple envelope with its tiny neon purple bell. Then gobbled the fat juicy violet grapes, immediately transforming into a mulberry ape who disappeared through the backdoor, into a periwinkle and orchid garden. I trialled this strange new ape, who grew magenta wings. She leapt, flew off, presumably back to Purple-Purple Planet. My grapes took her Home.
For a surreal moment I sat down in the alien purple orchid backgarden to open my purple envelope. On a delicate sheet of lilac papyrus was sketched a mulberry ape with magenta wings, eating a fat bunch of violet grapes !
The papyrus sheet was stained with red grape juice, smelling of mature liquor.
