Alaskan Nights

I want to take a walk along the pier I'll then drain out my eyes upon the shore I wonder why he ever put me here The sea - it seems to feel more than we dare To manifest the lust it has for gore I want to take a walk along the pier Impossible it is my life to steer A horse unbridled gallops all the more I wonder why he ever put me here A night of blackness is a cause for fear Alaskan night. I do not know what for I want to take a walk along the pier And if that walk (I hope) is not so sheer I'll ponder me down to the very core I wonder why he ever put me here To warn the masses that the end is near And tell them heaven shut its narrow doors I then will take a walk along the shore And ponder why he ever put me here

Perfect form and execution... the necessary repeats are most effective. Fine rhyming anf faultless flow. BRAVO my friend! Best wishes, Keith

'Impossible it is my life to steer' is a little awkward. i read it through a couple of times and still feel that it doesn't work. But this is a great use of the form. the repetition is good and adds a lot to the stress of the narrative. I'm not sure I agree with the feeling of the poem but that doesn't extract from the skillfullness that has gone into producing it.
