Ajar

even soft footsteps
leave an imprint behind
this door, ajar
with a shadow I once knew
                  caught in its draft

Michael, the first two lines read like an inspirational slogan. I have had many instances of people moving softy in my life, leaving only the shadow of their influence. Magnificent write, well deserved win.

this one is so mysterious, and the way you presented it, just made me want to place it high. It seems nostalgic to me and I am a sucker for that! Congrats in my contest.
