Things were doing fine

Then these reminders come

The impossible seems to creep up
I'll use the excuse and say I'll come by
Just to pick up my old things

Hating them keeps me full
Loving him makes me empty
Lying leads me to the fix
So I've ran away
To a hollow home
Where I have forgetful days
Where I almost die
All the time
It's the right thing to forgive
But saying it doesn't mean a thing
When each word's not close to sincere
You can apologize all you want
Yeah, a piece of me still wants you here
But I still can't believe what you've done
And why I even cared
