Aint Like It Used To Be

Ain’t Like It Used To Be Miracle Man 3/18/2023 like a mantle, the fog envelopes me, while choking rays from every street lamp pole. In thought I recall how things used to be, at life's time when I was just a tadpole. In thought I sit, journeying back in time, and it's nothing like I have remembered. Early news is all about last night’s crime, of shootings and a body dismembered. Of civil unrest in some world region, starving people unable to survive. Bullying countries with mighty legions, making me thankful for being alive.
