AI Didn't Scare Me Away

Not for a second think I've left the soup kitchen
and quite frankly, I'm tired of all the B itching.
not from those real poets who know how to write
with pen in hand or fingers on a keyboard in flight.

I'm dealing with a couple of serious family issues.
A very sick granddaughter, and it's giving me the blues
My best friend, my sister's heart is out of whack
I'm just done with AI attacks and counterattack

I haven't abandoned the site, only entering contests
and hoping Artificial Intelligence will soon be laid to rest.
Probably not. I've more important things to do for a while,
so, as Duke Beaufort likes to say... live life with a smile.

So sorry to read of your family’s health issues, Lin and I sincerely hope all turns out well. Haven’t been here much lately as the grey matter hasn’t been firing on all cylinders, but glancing through some of the members listings, I fear that A.I. has become a near epidemic on Soup. So, well said re your A.I. comments and hope to see you back on the leader board soon. Terry

Hi Lin; sorry to hear you are dealing with many life mishaps -- I know, sad when loved ones are suffering. It hurts us as well, the pain of often feeling helpless to console. Blessings my friend.

I went to check out your latest and OMG, Lin. You've really touched my heart. This is really a first for me. You are a breath of fresh air and a very honest and wonderful poet. Reading your work does bring a smile since it is authentic and heart-felt. This is what we strive for. Some are here to express anger and resentment, some to look for praise, and some to share feelings and explain what we feel life is about. You consistently land in the latter category. Words can only begin to express the pleasure you bring to this site. Authenticity is your middle name!! We hope all of us on this site are smiling today!

My Dear Lin, I can hear your voice with your usual strength and honesty. I’m so sorry you’ve been carrying so much lately. Just know you haven’t lost me for a second. I get it. Sometimes you just need to step back focus on what really matters, and let the rest fade into the background. You’re a real poet, through and through pen, keyboard or just your heart spilling onto the page. There’s no AI out there that can match your soul. Blessings, My Dear Lin, Daniel

So glad you arent leaving soup Lin, there are several poets who no longer post because of the influx of AI generated poems - but nothing gets done. lets keep poetry real and write with our hearts and minds not let a computer generate it for us and pretend we 'wrote it' hugs jan xx
