Agony And Ecstasy. . Pain may be the curse Or the of pleasure The piercing dagger or A heavy weight to bare Or one light as a feather . Pain can be bitter But it can also be sweet A rotten apple Or a tasty savoury treat . It can cause much harm Or leave one Sublimely calm Lead you astray Or make a Wonderful Happy day . Pain can ravish and torment The wounded soul Or awaken hidden pleasure Making one feel young Even when one is old . Pain and suffering Has led to many battles and wars Leave many scars And open up wounds And so many sores . But the sweetest pain of all Is when tender kisses begin to fall Upon my sensitive skin And I feel euphoria and ecstasy From deep within From the soothing salve That true love Can bestow and bring. . Hi Peter, so many different kinds of pain, yet the pain of true love is really the one that soothes and balms the skin. So well penned my friend. Happy new Year. Hugs and blessings. Jennifer.

Hi Charlotte. i see where you are coming from my friend. I didn't do a good job of this. the ecstasy is the sweet pain that love can bring in a kiss, or when making love. those intense moments almost, too pleasurable to bare. glad you enjoy my writes kitten. Your squeaky mouse. Pete. X

The more one loves the more the pain, Next month will be the forth anniversary of my wife's death. Never forgotten and the pain is still there. It can't be helped. That's life. ~~

Hello Peter, the pain can hurt for a very long time. When one thinks healing has taken place pain enters again. A question I wanted to ask my dead husband will never get answered. So i will always wonder. Now I will push that unanswered question away. To live my life for the now. Enjoy your day my friend. x

So sorry Darlene. My heart goes out to you.I suppose the pain never leaves, but we just find new ways to deal with it the best we can but as you know it's not easy. we have to think what our loved ones would have wanted. i have had another comment elsewhere. i don't think this poem was a good idea. Take heart, we will soon see our loved ones again, but in a much better place than this thank you. Take care Pete.X.
