Aging Lover
My ADOR'ED AGING LOVER
Knowledge in a smile.
Laughter in your eyes.
when the young buck
swaggers in
Don’t turn away---
His youth cannot compare.
Hold high your sterling head, My Darling
Years have burnished your heart to steel
Through fires of despair.
Sorrow has kissed your lips with tenderness.
Fierce determination has hidden power in your brow, instilled
Flaring flames of passion that burn wilder in the night
To ignite a joy of Life
Than that boy will ever know.
