Aging Game

center> Aging Game Fifty-four year-old complaining, she’s entering aging game. Dare I mention pounds she’ll gain, placed on her … shrunken frame? Bras she’ll sell because not needed, boobs long ago went flat! High heels, new fashionable way die, when hit the sidewalk … splat. Sleep apnea mask not pretty, nor Depend Panties wear. When LASIK makes her have to pee, be glad … wearing a pair! She’ll forget about evening wear, she’s in a social drought. Teeth more social then she, because, each evening … taken out! FIXODENT, nose drops, pacemakers What? ViAGRA too? Please! she’s way too old and senile, forgotten …what to do! I’m over eighty, love living, thank GOD, for every day. Aging privilege denied many, leaves little more … to say! 6/12/2019 A contest of Aging Poetry Contest Sponser: Emile Pinet center>

Just re-read this...the line about teeth being more social is priceless. You ready to create more poetry in 2020?

Humor helps us deal with the not-so-great stuff in this world and your poem is a spectacular example. Very clever!

I love this! Very clever--it cracked me up, because being in my 70's I can relate too damn well! I've come to suspect that God created old age to teach us humility--and boy, does it work.

L.J. sorry, I thought I had thanked you for saying how much enjoyed. Aging teaches us to enjoy each day more fully, know you must agree. Thanks again

This is a riot, Barbara.... Reminds of the compliment: 'Her teeth are like stars; they come out at night.' Keep smiling, Gershon

Gershon, thanks for visiting! "Like stars" never heard, that's funnier. I like that. Gonna go visit you. Thanks again!
