"Again... I apologize but threefold times Using paper, pad and quill. But it matters not to feed the beasts... The hounds are barking still".- David McHattie

I have discovered that the hounds never cease barking, and a life-long observation tells me the reason why. Yes, if we would dare admit it, we all know why the hounds keep barking. For starters, they are barking still because 'their masters' have a clearly defined agenda, a long and uncompromising do-list. Moreover, one must not be ignorant of the fact that the agenda is far more egregious and much more subtle than the barking hounds. Right or wrong, rational or not, they have a long list of grievances. Of course, not all their grievances are justified or need to be redressed.

But we need to be clear about one thing: They are not knew, will not go away; and they are masterful artisans of the gift of patience. Many of the good and decent people of our home of the brave and land of the free have spent a lifetime in the tillage of the soil. People of good will of all colors and stripes have reaped the fruits of righteousness and good will. Many have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Let none dare say that nothing has changed; nor let any say that we 'have arrived'. And if the hounds would dare to be silent, and if ALL of us would turn from OUR wicked ways, God will hear from heaven and heal our land.*

In one of my favorite movies, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp asked, "What do you want Ringo?" Ringo replied, "I want your blood, and I want your souls. And I want em both right now."
The hounds are continually barking because their opposers refuse to offer them what they really want. Nor should they, because the hounds want our blood and our soul. Nothing less will satisfy their appetite. And back to the movie. If we believe like Doc Holliday that there is a reckoning whose season will surely come, a reckoning when good will overcome evil; then here and now, we take our stand against the hounds who will never stop barking. We must not be so naive as to be ignorant about what it is that the hounds want. Neither you nor I have a feast that would appease, feed, or please the beast. Yes, they want both our blood and our souls; and they want it now.

Perhaps these are the days of Elijah whereby we choose this day whom we will serve, God or Baal. Perhaps these are the days of Martin Luther whereby we take our stand as did he when he said, "I can do no other, so help me God"**.

Curtis, I cannot express how much I enjoyed and appreciated this. You have encapsulated the feeling of so many of us. There does come a time, for each of us, when we must stand up...we "can do no other..."
