Agape Love

When Jesus, the Christ, embraced me as a lad Whispered in my ear God’s unconditional love abides And lives inside the deepest recesses of my heart Where no one can snatch it away, wound, or destroy it I became a passionate follower, knowing His love Is “greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell.” * With God's love came healing from sin, and the courage To be His reflecting image to a lost and broken world. I found a new home in the hereafter; I learned to live A life of inspiration to others, guided by prayers, Because He loved me, I have learned to love others. Agape love fosters a life of enduring joy and peace.

Thank you, Jeff. As you know, I do not write many spiritual poems, nor do I tout my inner spiritual life, so this was a rare write for me. I appreciate your read and your thoughts.

It’s hard for the finite to grasp the Infinite. Still God desires for us to come into relationship with Him. You expressed this well.

Thanks for your warm and thoughtful comment, Caren. I'm not a fan of writing a poem where you have to use specified words, but I did my best.

Absolutely not, Jo. It would be a rather common title for this poem. Thanks for your kind comment and offer.

A very well written poem Milton. I liked the way you worked the line from Lehman into the poem. John

Thanks, John. I felt Lehman's words were fitting for my poem, or my poem was illustrative of his words.
