Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain.
Friedrick Schiller

We are now used to accept that money
Is our gods, and getting it is pure honey.
I bought a cargo vessel that would make me rich
And docked it in a port where I'd find no hitch.
Soon enough the ship was full of dark containers
All painted black, I got fine hefty retainers.
All dark containers are fitted for safety's sake,
But at night some grey cargo was due to break.
The cargo master paid the port manager his due,
Papers exchanged who dared say what was true or untrue?

The cargo ship left its moorings despite a storm warning
It headed out to sea and the top containers fell in the morning.
The cargo captain ordered the ship to sail back
The ship was soon moored in its track.
The insurance was called to assess the damages.
How funny the captain was covered with bandages.

Thus the heinous plan worked to perfection,
The captain was lauded for his protection.
The lost containers were never found.
The captain now rich left onto the ground.

No one cared when later tons of fish were found dead.
Beneath the depth of the sea, the chemicals had long spread.

It's all so very sad. Corruption is suffocating our earth. Greed is rampant. Oh my.

Very well penned, Victor, money is the scourge of the earth; it distorts men's thinking, but I take solace in knowing that they don't take a single dime with them after they die. There is indeed a lot of danger out there in the world. For many years, we handled the seas as though they were a swamp. Things are changing, but there is always much room for improvement.

Money is the root of all evil, it corrupts minds but I get satisfaction in the knowledge that they don't take one penny with them when they die. Tom

The cargo master paid port manager his due--and just like that he could do what he wanted--And heinous plan worked to perfection. That is how the world bends for money and greed. Well said, Victor.

There is much risk in the world. For years we treated the oceans like a toilet. Things are getting better but much to do. Well penned. An excellent effort. Stay well my friend.
