Afterwards

After the storm
the morning comes
with gentle rain, soft,
hardly sending a tremor
down the fronds
of a fern or causing a leaf
to nod with the weight
of a drop - it comes
in whispers,
in a fine glaze of damp
as that left by moist lips
anointing the beloved
in blissful exhaustion.

A gentle voice so different from the storm! I love the 'nod' of the water-weight on the frond. J :)

This reads with deep felt recognition, just beautiful Paul. Takes the reader to a tranquil moment, yet several interpretations are possible.
