Aftermath (If I Could)

If I could just remember how to do this; If I could just remember what to do. How to move, to take a breath, To walk the line between this and death; If I could just remember how to move. If I could just forget this happened; If I could just forget this day. The telephone, the vivid mess, Picking out my darkest dress; If I could just forget the phone rang. If I could only learn how to take this; If I could only learn what it means. The screaming fit, the shaking hands, The words I know, but couldn't understand; If I could only learn not to scream. If I could just remember how to do this; If I could just remember what to do. How to move, to brush my hair, To comprehend things that I don't dare; If I could just remember how to move.

This was a very stirring poem. I think we all are frozen during a tragedy at times. Well written..
