Notes About The Poem

Afterglow

the foreplay and afterglow
isforgotten in the show
of virility and might
so she cries into the night

She's uncherished and unsought
All his tenderness forgot
In the rush of passion's need
Fantasies remain....unfreed

She remembers yesteryear
When he clasped her, held her dear
Now she's just a bedded form
Lost in her desire's storm

With a sigh her closes eyes
dreams her dreams of paradise
where her love she celebrates
and her wants she consummates

Where she smiles in wanton bliss
as she's bathed in lover's kiss
in a place where fertile mind
intercourse with body finds

where foreplay and afterglow
build up to climactic show
and love pounds with wondrous might
leaving joyous tears in sight

Eileen

This is the case for many in long term relationships. Relationships should be nurtured for the flame to burn bright.

Though the fires don't burn quite as hot, the coals still glow with a deep penetrating heat and once stoked spring to life! Love this poem LO!! Smoking hot in Texas!

I heard say that the Chinese love rice meals because they manage to have a new recipe for each day of the year! Perhaps that's the way we could look at love, thus keeping it fresh, alive and desirable. A delightful poem, Eileen. Hugs // paul

This poem speaks the truth. Intercourse can become a boring ritual if not nurtured with fresh ideas, new adventures and. if one wont rekindle the flame of desire and love. Much truth here.

This can be true but certainly doesn't have to be. Attention and intimacy mixed with love and imagination will keep the fire burning. Being brave enough to sometimes be selfish can also add some spark. Tell your partner what you need and ask her what she wants. I enjoyed this thought provoking piece ooh la la!

Once the flame of passion is lit it should be maintained for to keep burning! One way to do it is love, true love, when everything one does is for the other and not for one's self! Beautiful rhythm and message, dear Eileen! A seven!
