After the Storm

While the small Woodstock stores
Came to life
I watched
As shopkeepers
Began their morning jobs
Of shoveling freshly fallen snow

The naked trees
Of the old downtown street
Bent beneath the weight
While I reflected
On the storm
That had battered the town
From the moonless night
Into early morning

Stopping for coffee
I could see you
Out of the corner of my eye
Dancing down the street
From the village square

And even though
I could not look your way
Just knowing it was you
Was all that it took
To feel the cold winter morning
Melt away
And memories of missing you
Come rushing in

Nicely set and well expressed...I would suggest exchanging the positions of the lines "Out of the corner of my eye" and "I could see you", since the preceding "Stopping for coffee" has a rather comedic impact when read immediately before "Out of the corner of my eye"....as "Stopping for coffee/ Out of the corner of my eye" versus "Stopping for coffee/ I could see you/ Out of the corner of my eye"...nice work.
