After Dinner Reflection

What are you grateful for,
I asked my 420 post-millennials,
not expecting to hear much
beyond Thanksgiving Dinner bounty.

For extended family
good relationships
and even those more challenging
with those still here,

For those no longer more than ultra non-violently visible,
For those yet to become mature healthy adults,
For future generations waiting in our eggs and sperm
Together nurturing slow-grown potential.

And for good food
like apple crisp
fruitful everyday deep-dish respect,
mutual nutritional engagement,
health investments
for gratitude giving
and thanks taking,
slow
and resonant
nourishing 2020 pre-communion.
