Africa Rebirth
AFRICA REBIRTH
The black daughter of the ancient gods
Once prophesied the saviour of the world
She never lived her dream
Nor strive to strike her goals
Went to sleep after the priest gave his message
Waiting on the gods to build her empire
Left her walls unguided for strangers to tear
Strange gods brought imposed on her
Fed fat with foreign diets
Her sons she exchanged for cheap tobacco
And her daughters Traded for fragile mirrors.
Spooned with crumbs from her abundance
Her treasures looted while she was Fed fat and made to forget her history
Beads of sanity replaced with shackles tagged fashion
Humanity killed and selfishness adorned as capitalism
Stripped of her royalty and glorified in her nakedness
Who could believe the ancient Princess now lives as pig
Her warriors now mount the gate in foreign land
Made to build and mend walls of strangers
Sweat rewarded in glorified notes
Notes that drains and lures her children filter away
Wake up dear old princess
The pride of the Black world
Chisel out your uniqueness
It is in you as of old
Shed the burden of corruption
Burn out the excess negligence of many decades
Let the new Princess emerge
The bride the world awaits
Take up the throne of your ancient ancestors
Let the prophecy be fulfilled
Bring back the old glory
Arise and let the world be electrified
The long awaited Princess is you
The pride and the bride of the Black kingdom
Here comes the long awaited future
Emerge o ye Africa
