Afraid of the Dark

Afraid of the Dark

Growing up as a kid I was afraid of the Dark
Afraid of monsters lurking around my room
Afraid of their eyes piercing through the darkness
Afraid of them grabbing my legs and pulling me into the darkness with them
Pulling the covers over my head would put me to ease.

Now as adult I'm still afraid of dark
The monsters evolved into demons
Afraid demons just stand there in the dark
Afraid of their eyesight burning my skin
Afraid of the demons because they don't just want me in the darkness like the monsters, they want to torture me emotionally.
Pulling my covers over my head would put me at ease back than, but now they get under the covers and whisper into my ears.
