Afraid

Your look of innocence always makes me feel at home.
My heart pounds rapidly as your essence overwhelms me
Doubt and fear of losing your light frightens me
For without your glow, I will return to darkness
I have known the agony of loneliness
The feeling of false hope has abused me so
Afraid of losing the glimmer of hope
Afraid of losing the light within
Afraid of losing you
