Notes About The Poem

Art by AFI

Afi 9th Art Wave

his breath
clouds the night air
board grinds rail
the lamppost’s light reveals
his heart pounds as red lights swirl

Wow Debbie, they don't realize the pain they put us through. I had one of my students go down a steep hill into traffic never knowing the consequences. a 7

I can feel the pounding of the youth's heart...this nightly adventure powers his excitement, even as the authorities run after them! There's danger, yes...but also youthful daring. A 7! Kim :)

Another great piece of art Debbie. I spot the red on the hand rail. The blood of the adventurer? If you fall off your board you get right back on? Maybe merely represents the passion of the rider. Love your Tanka correct in style and leaves the door open to so many interpretations.Excellent!
